About
Artspark! is a project that enables talented children in the county to experience extra curricular workshops with professionals in their fields.
Developed by the Arts Development team at Caerphilly County Borough Council, local schools nominated pupils to take part in the scheme, allowing children already passionate about art to focus and learn more about a particular specialism they were interested in, whether it be visual arts, film & video, dance or drama.
Delivered through trips and workshops over six school terms, the children involved are given opportunities to meet local artists to provide positive role models in their communities, as well as develop the ability and confidence of the next generation of young artists in the area.
These photographs document these children during their workshops with the different artists they meet, at the same time introducing them to venues and organisations that can help develop their interests further.
