Newport Photomarathon 2021

STOP PRESS! Put down your remote, pick up your cameras or smartdevices and get ready… The Newport Photomarathon is set to return in 2021 with IN REAL LIFE workshops and activities in Newport.
Established in 2017, the Newport Photomarathon is an event like no other. Typically you have a set period of time to take a set amount of photographs, on specific topics in a set order. With prizes given on the best interpretation of these topics, it’s not your physical ability that will get you through the day, but your sense of creativity and your eye for a good photo!
After the 24 hour period of the Photomarathon, all the images are collated and printed, before our panel of judges meet to decide the winners. All the photos – yes, all of them – then go on show in a free public exhibition.

Wedi’i sefydlu yn 2017, mae Photomarathon Casnewydd yn ddigwyddiad fel dim arall. Yn nodweddiadol mae gennych gyfnod penodol o amser i dynnu swm penodol o ffotograffau, ar bynciau penodol mewn trefn benodol. Gyda gwobrau wedi’u rhoi ar y dehongliad gorau o’r pynciau hyn, nid eich gallu corfforol fydd yn eich arwain trwy’r dydd, ond eich synnwyr o greadigrwydd a’ch llygad am lun da!
Ar ôl cyfnod 24 awr y Photomarathon, caiff yr holl ddelweddau eu coladu a’u hargraffu, cyn i’n panel o feirniaid gwrdd i benderfynu ar yr enillwyr. Mae’r lluniau i gyd – ie, pob un ohonyn nhw – yna’n cael eu harddangos mewn arddangosfa gyhoeddus am ddim.
WORKSHOPS
On the weekend before and Saturday of the Photomarathon, there will also be a range of workshops run by professional photographers to sign up for, as well as a photo-social for people to get together, talk about their day and meet others taking part.
Prices per workshop vary, with fees going back in to the Photomarathon event, as well as covering material cost and tutor fees on the day.
