I’m really pleased to announce that as part of Ffotogallery‘s education programme, in 2017 I will be leading their sessions on “Photographing People” at their learning facilities in Cardiff’s Chapter Arts Centre in Canton – full information below:

This course explores factors involved in producing insightful portraits.  Through photographing people in a variety of situations and lighting conditions and looking at work by contemporary and historical photographers, students develop an understanding of the subject / photographer relationship. Practical techniques such as lighting control and fill-in flash are also developed.

Fee: £200.00 (Reduced Fee £ n/a)

Duration: Spring Term 2017 – 5 fortnightly Saturdays from 28th January 2017

Time: 10:30 am – 4:30 pm

Ffotogallery is the national development agency for photography and lens based media in Wales, their aim being to develop the practice, enjoyment and understanding of contemporary photography and lens-based media to national and international audiences. It’s a pleasure to be able to support their efforts through their course programme, which is part of their wider programme of commissioning, exhibitions, publishing and events. Their courses are a unique opportunity for people outside of full-time education to develop their interests in photography in small groups, in an enjoyable informal atmosphere in artist-led sessions.
