So what’s next…? Artspark! booklet: A year in review.

Morning folks – and what a glorious morning it is in Newport! That beautiful Autumn sunshine is flooding through our windows this morning, so before I go take some photographs of it, I thought I’d share a little update with what I’ve been up to lately.

Today’s post covers the latest instalment of Artspark! – a project set up by the Arts Development team at Caerphilly Borough Council, funded by the Arts Council of Wales and Caerphilly Arts service, that identifies young people showing an interest, talent or potential in Visual Arts, Dance, Drama or Film and Digital Media, developing their skills through workshops with professional artists in Wales.

This booklet was commissioned to bring together all the work the Artsparks! did as part of their sessions to celebrate their hard work over the last year before they embark on Year 2 of the project. With the first sessions starting up again in November, we’re all VERY excited about what the groups will be getting up to already – and I’m very excited to have been asked to photograph their exploits once more. Equally, it has been a pleasure to develop this booklet as an outcome specifically for this project, and it is a skill and service I am keen to do more with in the future.

I’ll be posting more news about this project coming soon, but for now here are photos of the booklets designed and developed in partnership with Kate Verity at Caerphilly Arts Development Service – in it you’ll be able to find more information on the project, groups and activities covered by Artspark! over 2014-15, and if you live in the Caerphilly County Borough area, how to take part next year. These booklets will be being sent out to schools and pupils across the county in the upcoming weeks.
