Valley Ffocws @ Lady Windsor, Ynysybwl
29 Apr 2021, Posted by Community, Out & About, Wales, Work in progress inNot so long ago, I had the pleasure of being invited by Julie Cook along with co-conspirator Dai Howell to join Valley Ffocws – a shifting Photographic collective based around Rhondda Cynon Taff, to take part in their open call around The Lady Windsor Colliery site in Ynysybwl.
Ffoton have written a fabulous write up about the project – see their post here: https://www.ffoton.wales/news-items/2021/3/lady-windsor-colliery
It is still early days with this project – but the Valley Ffocws Collective are actively seeking artists, writers and photographers interested in contributing to creative work responding to the history, geology, nature and community of the area. The outcome could take a number of forms with activism and institutional change at its heart.
Julie Cook is leading the project and anyone interested can contact her via: Juliecook1@icloud.com
